What to Expect

Our Physical Therapy Clinics

Treatment begins with a physical therapist evaluating your condition, identifying the source(s) of your discomfort or dysfunction, and developing a custom treatment program for your condition. Usually this involves some form of manual therapy and exercise, as well as modalities to treat the causes. Examples of Physical Therapy modalities include, but are not limited to, Hotpacks, Coldpacks, TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), Ultrasound, Cervical/Lumbar Traction, Electrical Stimulation and Myofascial Release (massage). You normally will receive verbal instructions and written information for a home exercise program, education on body mechanics and measures to prevent further injury or re-injury.

Appointments and payment services are handled by our front office staff. Our staff will make every effort to schedule appointments that are convenient with your schedule. Payment methods, including insurance questions, should be addressed at the time of your initial visit. Please understand that in all cases the patient is ultimately responsible for complete and timely payment for services rendered. Although medical insurance generally covers physical therapy treatments every insurance plan is unique. We accept many types of insurance plans however we recommend that you check with your insurance carrier to confirm the terms of your particular coverage. Our staff will be glad to assist you in determining your level of benefits, resolving billing issues, and filing common paperwork.

...please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment time...

Your first visit will involve some paperwork so please plan to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment time. You should be bring a doctor's referral/prescription, your insurance card (if applicable), all information regarding your medical history and the nature of your disability. Although referrals are not required by Idaho law because it is a direct access state, if you have one, please bring it. To save time you may elect to download our new patient forms, print and complete the forms prior to your appointment. You should also wear comfortable clothes as your treatment will require ease of movement and mobility.

Duration and completion of your physical therapy program will depend upon your condition, your bodies ability to heal, and your commitment to following the prescribed treatment program. Although the average treatment period is 4-6 weeks, after your evaluation your physical therapist can provide an approximation of the time required and reasonable expectations for your treatments.
